Warner Bros. “would love” to develop more Harry Potter series

Warner Bros. CEO Ann Sarnoff has revealed the studio “would love” to explore the world of Harry Potter more.

“We would like to develop more original Harry Potter series, and we speak to JK Rowling and his team on a regular basis,” Sarnoff said at a conference hosted by Bloomberg (via Hollywood journalist). “It must be fair though. Whatever we do, it must be true to the canon, and true to the ethics of the wizarding world, and to who Harry is.”

Warner Bros. produced all eight Harry Potter films, as well as the current Fantastic Beasts prequel film series – Fantastic Beasts 3 (officially titled Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore) is slated for release in April 2022.

However, our next Potter-verse adventure will be to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (AKA Harry Potter and the School of Wizards in the US and India) with a reunion of the cast, including the main trio Daniel Radcliffe. , Rupert Grint and Emma Watson.

Sarnoff also confirmed at the conference that Warner Bros. had no plans to change their release plans for 2022 yet. In 2021, the studio’s entire roster of films released simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max due to the pandemic, but the day and date streaming model seems to be deleted next year.

“Did we think about going back to the day and date? Sure, we thought about it, but we made our commitments to the theaters, the agents, the talent,” she said. “Everyone was hoping we were on the other side of the pandemic now.”
