SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) – People around the world consider the Harry Potter film series a cultural phenomenon and the magic of the original film will unfold, in high definition, on a giant screen here in Sioux City.
The film will be played as the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra performs every note of John William’s score. More than 100 orchestra members and a 30-person choir come together to make it happen.
“There’s nothing better, seeing a brand like this with a live orchestra producing the entire score underneath is eye-opening, brings people a new perspective. It’s truly an exciting time for Sioux City. The reality is that music is key to making these movies impactful, you think of your favorite movie, not just Harry Potter, and you extract the music and a one-liner could mean a whole other thing if you extract that emotional charge from what the music brings,” director Ryan Haskins said.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in Concert flies to Sioux City on June 11 for this special one-night-only event at the Tyson Events Center.
