With most On my blockthe biggest mysteries of ‘are turned – including what really happened to Lil Ricky – The Core Four focused their attention on the ball in the series finale.

Jamal chose her date after a bracket style contest, Ruby had disastrous eyebrow highlights, Monse decided to be her own date before attending Ruby and Jasmine, and Cesar (who declined the Monse’s proposal) went with Vero.

Before the big event, the very tired Abuelita gave Jamal one last piece of advice: get out of her head and have fun. Do not seek a goal because its goal will find it.

Jamal’s “Illuminati Nights” theme wasn’t very clear, and everyone assumed it was Harry Potter – much to their frustration. Meanwhile, Ruby and Jasmine took to playing on the dance floor, making Monse feel like the third wheel. It didn’t help that she had to watch Caesar dance with Vero all night long. In the bathroom, Jasmine gave Monse one of her epic pep talk, and Monse handed Vero an olive branch offering him a tampon.

After being named Prom King on Jamal, Ruby decided to dance with Jasmine instead of Rona, who was named Prom Queen. The rest of the night found the four hearts laughing and having a good time together like in the good old days.

Earlier that night, the Spooky gnome found his way to Caesar, and now the gnome Juanita had found Jamal. However, Jamal was more interested in chasing after Kendra – the one who ran away. He followed her outside and to the mysterious black car with red rims that had followed him all season. As it turned out, Kendra was working for her favorite tech billionaire, Noel Aroma, and they had been watching him to see if he was the right fit for the company. Jamal accepted Aroma’s offer to invent products for the wealthy genius, believing he had finally found his purpose.

Caesar and Monse made peace. They haven’t got back together, but are back on good terms. Cesar finally saw a future for himself and decided to move to Portland to help raise his niece.

Once the gang reunited, they decided to return to Ruby’s house for an afterparty. However, they quickly learned that Abuelita passed away right after they left for the prom. A true testament to Abuelita’s free-spirited nature, her celebration of life was a Party. Friends and relatives have come together to drink, smoke and remember.

Monse revealed his intention to spend a year after high school writing a memoir, and Ruby gave a “short and sweet” toast to his abuelita. A new Core Four took a peek at the face of the OG gang, hinting at the upcoming spin-off Freeridge, which received the green light from Netflix.

The series ended with the promise of a new mystery to be solved. Abuelita left the crew with a Rollerworld type card, which likely led to their loss of money. As you will recall, the final flashback saw Marisol asking Oscar what he was planning to do with the bag of money, and Oscar denied using it to fund his restaurant. Did he give it to Abuelita, who then left it with the Core Four to embark on a final adventure together? Seems very likely.
