No Refund Theater continues its busy fall lineup with a production of Harry Potter-inspired “Puffs” this weekend.
The show, also titled “Seven increasingly eventful years in a certain school of magic and wizardry,” is a comedic retelling of the famous fantasy series from the point of view of the witches and wizards of the gentle-mannered Hufflepuff house. . Its original production debuted in 2015 and then toured internationally to Sydney and Toronto, among other destinations.

According to the original show’s website, Puffs is not authorized, sanctioned, licensed, or endorsed by author JK Rowling, Warner Bros. or anyone associated with the Harry Potter franchise. As a result, Puffs humorously uses slightly modified names and off-brand terminology in the universe. You will meet characters like “Blando Malfoy”, hear poignant stories about the Azkaban parody “WizPriz” and continue to drink lots of butter ale.
From the outset, Puffs rejects the “young orphan with a lightning bolt scar” in favor of Wayne, an orphan from New Mexico who finds himself in “a certain school of magic and magic”. The production loosely follows the plot of the Harry Potter franchise while presenting a new perspective from the eyes of the Puffs.

Directed by Chloe Braden, Puffs will be premiere at 9 p.m. on Thursday 28 October, in Forum 111. Additional shows will take place at 8 pm on Friday October 29 and Saturday October 29.
As always, admission to the No Refund Theater is completely free.
