JK Rowling is releasing his first children’s novel since Harry potter books.
The award-winning author, who grew up in Gloucestershire, has announced that she will be releasing a new children’s novel, The Christmas Pig, in October 2021.
The book will be her first children’s novel since the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
His last story, The Ickabog, was serialized online for free for children in lockdown, and then released with all royalties donated to Author Volant’s charitable foundation, which aims to help vulnerable groups affected by the pandemic.
Rowling’s new novel, The Christmas Pig follows Jack and his childhood toy Hard Pig, or DP for short, who get lost on Christmas Eve. But on a night when everything comes to life, even the toys, Jack’s new toy – the Christmas Pig, who is DP’s boring replacement – has a daring plan that involves them embarking on a magical journey to search for something lost and save the only best friend Jack never knew.
We don’t know yet if The Christmas Pig will include all references to Gloucestershire such as the Harry potter series, but fans won’t have long to wait as JK Rowling’s new children’s novel will be released on Tuesday, October 12, 2021.
