It was reported that she had been “snubbed” from the Return To Hogwarts reunion, but The independent claims the author makes an appearance at the meeting.
The post says the Harry Potter cast are discussing the impact Rowling had on them before she appeared in archive footage.
The actors were apparently talking about the difficulties finding the perfect Harry Potter when Rowling said, “We couldn’t find Harry!”
“We just couldn’t find Harry, and it was getting a little weird and freaked out.”
However, the author is not seen in any of the promotional videos released prior to the special.
Representatives for JK Rowling have been contacted for comment.
In June 2020, Rowling challenged an article that used the term “menstruating people” instead of “women.”
She started a rant about biological sex and then posted an essay explaining her point of view.
Rowling received even more criticism due to the essay after other controversial comments on transgender issues.
Rupert, Emma and Daniel have all released statements defending the transgender community.
“I strongly support the trans community,” Rupert said at the time. “Trans women are women. Trans men are men. We should all have the right to live in love and without judgment.”
The trailer for the special reunion was released in early December, much to the excitement of longtime fans.
The teaser clip opened with an image of the famous clock on the front of Hogwarts before moving on to an image from The Daily Prophet, with a splash read: “Hogwarts Welcomes Alumni Back.”
The reunion cast members include Robbie Coltrane, Matthew Lewis, Mark Williams, Bonnie Wright and Evanna Lynch.
The special will allow cast members to discuss their favorite moments and movie memories.
Many actors grew up filming the movies, with Daniel looking back on his years on “the world’s greatest playground”.
In a clip that was released, Emma explains, “It’s like time hasn’t passed – and a lot of time has passed.”
Rupert adds: “I think this is a great time to sit down with everyone and remember.”
