HBO Max would have developed a Harry Potter animation project

You get the distinct impression that HBO Max is eager to pull the trigger to extend the Harry potter franchise, with the Wizarding World offering plenty of potential and storytelling opportunities to continue to grow the brand for years to come.

Warner Bros. has actively invited pitches for TV shows set in the Magical Universe for months, but so far nothing has been officially announced Hogwarts Houses Tournament, the four-part game show hosted by Helen Mirren that will air on Cartoon Network and CBS before ultimately migrating to streaming.

However, we hear from our sources – the same ones who originally told us that HBO Max was planning Harry potter projects long before it was confirmed – that the platform could dive into the animated realm, which at first glance makes a lot of sense.

As witnessed Aquaman: King of Atlantis, Batman: Crusader in a Cloak and My adventures with Superman to name just three, WarnerMedia doesn’t hesitate to leverage some of its most marketable assets to deliver exclusive content you won’t find anywhere other than HBO Max, and Harry potter certainly fits this mission.

While this is almost certainly not another adaptation of the seven-book series, the lore is so rich and densely populated that there are literally countless ways to continue to mine the property to find the inspiration, whether in two or three dimensions.
