Matthew Lewis, 32, met Angela Jones in January 2016 at the annual Celebration of Harry Potter event at Universal Orlando. Angela was technically a VIP manager for the resort and event, but we think it’s safe to assume that she was at least a bit of a fan if she was working at the convention.
The couple got engaged in November of the same year, then married in Italy two years later. Rightly so, the question has been asked of the most romantic of destinations – the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
While Angela lived in Florida and Matthew in England, they made him work remotely – as Angela wrote on her lifestyle blog Sunshine State of Me, they were “soul mates.”
Now it looks like they live together on the sunny west coast of California.
Meanwhile, Matthew is still playing, his most recent role being on Channel 5’s All Creatures Great and Small TV series for which he received critical praise. He also played a role in the movie Baby Done which was also released in 2020.
Less well known is the actor’s love of sport, including his Leeds United football team, with his Twitter bio describing himself as a “narcissistic sports pimp”. He is vice chairman of the Leeds Rugby Foundation charity and hosts the Leeds United podcast “Doing a Leeds” with former professional footballer Jermaine Beckford.
