Watson already knew about books from his father. the Noah alum revealed that her father would read her excerpts from the books before she went to bed or on long car trips. So when the producers came to Watson’s school, she was over the moon. They took pictures of Watson and about 20 other kids in her age range and three weeks later she got a phone call.

Of course, the phone call was only the first step in what would be a very arduous hearing process for Watson. In fact, the actor would go through a total of eight auditions before being cast for the role of Hermione. However, the process only reinforced Watson’s belief that the role was hers. She felt such a deep synergy with the character that she didn’t allow herself to believe that she wouldn’t understand.

“I loved the books, I was a massive fan. I just felt like that part was mine, âWatson explained in a conversation for Interview Magazine. âI know it sounds crazy, but from that first audition, I always knew. At first they picked the other characters as well, but I always knew I was dating for Hermione. It came to me so naturally. Maybe a big part of me at the time looked like him. Of course, all of this terrified my parents – there were literally thousands and thousands of girls showing up for the audition, and my parents were worried about what I would do if I didn’t get it.

Watson’s parents failed to convince her she wouldn’t get the part
Continuing, Watson shared that her parents had even tried to prepare her in case she didn’t get the part because the odds were really not in her favor. But the Little woman alum declined to entertain the idea that she wasn’t going to be the only cast. âThey were trying to make me stay realistic, but I didn’t have any,â Watson said of his parents. “I was going to get this part.” Obviously, Watson’s instincts that the role was his were perfect. Considering her interests and her intelligence, it certainly feels like Hermione Granger was the role she was born to be.
