BBC crime drama Strike: Troubled Blood will be filmed in Skegness

Scenes for the highly anticipated new series of the hit crime drama Strike are due to be filmed in Skegness in February.

Troubled Blood will see the return of Tom Burke as private detective Cormoran Strike and his sidekick Robin Ellacott, played by Holliday Grainger.

The new show is based on the fifth novel in the Strike book series by JK Rowling, written as Robert Galbraith.

A publicist for the show has confirmed to Lincolnshire Live that filming will take place in Skegness over “a few days” from February 21.

In the book Troubled Blood, Strike and Robin venture to the Lincolnshire seaside resort to interview a witness called Steven Douthwaite.

It took them a year to find Mr Douthwaite, who runs a fictional B&B on Scarbrough Avenue called the Allardice, and they staked him out of the Jubilee Carvery and Café around the corner.

Other places mentioned include Skegness Bowl, Boating Lake, Pier, Hollywood Bar and Diner, Funland, Clock Tower, Tony’s Chippy, Harry Ramsbottom’s and Jolly Fisherman Fountain.

Make jokes about the names of the Savoy, Quorn and Chatsworth hotels, as Robin reveals she loved vacationing in Skegness as a child.

Actors and performers website In the wings reports that Strike has confirmed 11 weeks of filming from mid-January 2022.
